#11 : Rick Tedesco

1.For the people who dont know who you are, who are you, where are you from ?

My name is Rick Tedesco and I am from DFW, Texas, United States.

2.Tell us a bit about how you got involved within the Break Wind Family…………..

It’s a bit of a long story, but I was working on a track the same time another individual was and they both had similar meanings, we just didn’t know it at the time. I ended up posting the track on Soundcloud and was approached by Boba in regards to the track and meaning behind it. After a few conversations between Boba and I; he signed the track and a friendship was born. Since then, I have worked with BWP for remixing and currently assist them with mastering.

3.How long have you been making music and what started your journey into the world of Breakbeat?

I started production in 2011, so right around 4 years. As for breakbeat… I got involved with breakbeat music when I first discovered BT, which led me to other artist like Hybrid, PMT, Koma & Bones, etc… I was fascinated with this sound. It was the first time I heard a style of music where the drums were broken and not straight 4×4 driven. It made tracks less repetitive and added constant change.

4.Tell us a bit about yourself outside of music, hobbies, Job, things you do when not making music?

Besides music, I’m pretty damn basic. I’m a single father of a beautiful little girl who is my everything. I enjoy skateboarding (Yes, still at the age of 35), riding my Harley and like everyone else, surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who are positive and like to have a good time.

5.What is in store for the future for you within music?

Well, I just finished my first full length album, Style Clash which will release in March, so I’m pretty excited about that and nervous. I have a few remixes hitting the stores soon as well as a new EP.

6.What toys do you have in the studio and what is your weapon of Choice?

I use FL Studio and Ableton, however I prefer FL Studio. Ableton has some features that FL Studio does not, so it’s nice to have an alternate DAW to work with. I have a custom built PC, LaunchPad, E-MU Midi Controller and 2 M-Audio BX8 monitors and 2 M-Audio BX5 monitors. As for the VSTs, I mainly stick to 3 of them. Massive, FM8 and Omnisphere.

7.Who are your musical influences of past and who are you excited about in the present?

BT, Hybrid, Shiloh, Luke Chable, PMT, Retroid, Burufunk, Toksin, Oracle, Seth Vogt, The Emissary, LP, J-Hazen… the list goes on and on.
Now, the ones that have caught my ears over the years would be Karl Sav, Under This, Yanix, Alfoa, Cullen, Raggapop Inc & Elevate, Bobalino, Sergei Orange, Beta, Trukers, Schodt… again, the list goes on and on.

8.Name Three breakbeat tunes that is blowing you away at the moment?

Reuben Halsey – Meaning Of Life (Bobalino Remix)
Karl Sav – Fusion (Original Mix)
Shade K – No Offers (Yanix Remix)

9.You can take three tracks (not albums) onto your desert island, what would they be?

The Panic Division – Photograph
BT – Firewater
Aerosoul – Time Is by Your Side Feat. John Ward (Schodt Remix)

10.Which Star Wars Charecter are you most like and why?

Han Solo, hands down. He’s cynical and why the others are swinging lightsabers, he’s rocking the gun… LOL. I’m not one for guns, but I’d rather shoot then swing 
